real questions ; does halsin understand how squishy sqooshy adorable he is DOES HE
unprompted ask || always accepting
No. Absolutely not.
Halsin? That giant slab of warm bear muscle, gentle words, and forest-scented hugs? That man who softly murmurs to dying animals, who braids hair with thick fingers, who thanks the fallen deer for its life before taking it? Yeah, he has no clue.
He thinks he's just “being mindful.” Just “doing his duty.” Just “offering comfort where it’s needed.” But meanwhile? He’s accidentally squishing hearts left and right.
That rumble in his voice when he laughs low and fond? Devastating. The way he lowers himself so a much smaller companion can tuck a flower behind his ear? Deadly. When he tilts his head with that concerned brow crease and asks, “Are you alright, my friend?” — lethal.
He probably senses the affection. He's perceptive, sure. But in that patient, forest-dwelling, spiritually-balanced way, where he brushes it off like, “Ah… they’re merely expressing warmth, I think. Affection born of camaraderie, nothing more.” Sir, no. They are seconds away from combusting.
So no. He doesn’t know. But he should.
